ARTHUR
*Celtic
Presiding over his court at Camelot with his queen, Guinevere, King
Authur is the central figure in a mass of medieval literature, much of
it French. These tales tell of the deeds of his Knights of the Round
Table, who included Lancelot, Gawain, and Galahad. In real life,
Authur may have been Celtic chieftain who resisted the invading Saxons
in southwest England around AD 500.
